Young Adults and Adolescents Health Unit (YAAHU)

The Young Adults and Adolescents Health Unit (YAAHU) at MHHC provides comprehensive, age-appropriate healthcare for adolescents and young adults ages 12 to 26. We recognize that this stage of life comes with important physical, emotional, and social changes, and our care is designed to meet patients where they are.

YAAHU offers confidential, respectful care that includes reproductive health services, STI and HIV testing and treatment, mental health support, and care for eating and weight concerns. We also support patients with complex medical needs, disabilities, and neurodivergent conditions through individualized, coordinated care.

Our approach is compassionate, trauma-informed, and designed to help young people feel comfortable asking questions, making informed decisions, and taking an active role in their health, while giving parents and caregivers confidence that their child is receiving thoughtful, high-quality care.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide high-quality, comprehensive, confidential, and judgment-free healthcare and medical services for adolescent and young adult patients. We aim to improve health outcomes, medical literacy, and overall well-being through compassionate care, education, advocacy, and individualized treatment plans that respect each patient’s identity, experiences, and needs.
