Family Planning Program

MHHC has provided federal Title X-funded family planning services for over 30 years. Family planning services are fully integrated into MHHC’s medical model of care. We provide accessible, confidential reproductive health care services to women, men and adolescents, especially low-income individuals and those without health insurance. This means that when you visit your provider at MHHC they will ask you about your need for reproductive health services and support.

The Family Planning Program offers a full scope of reproductive health services including:

· Contraceptive (birth control) education, counseling, and a broad range of methods (including long-acting reversible contraception such as IUDs and implants) to reduce unintended pregnancies and to improve birth spacing and outcomes;

  • Preconception health services
  • Counseling and testing for HIV
  • Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections
  • Health education in community settings to promote reproductive health, to prevent unintended pregnancy and to promote access to reproductive and preventive health services.
  • Screening for intimate partner violence, drug and alcohol use, tobacco usage, immunizations, depression, and chronic illnesses (diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, etc.)

In addition to our focused reproductive health planning, treatment, and sexual health assessment we provide other related preventive health services to include:

  • Cervical Cancer screening
  • Breast cancer screening
  • Screening for Lipid disorders
  • Skin cancer
  • Colorectal cancer or osteoporosis

Pregnancy testing are available upon request

ALL patients of the family planning program are provided with services regardless of their ability to pay for services. The Family Planning Benefit Program (FPBP) is offered to all eligible family planning patients. The FPBP also utilizes the sliding fee scale for those patients that are not eligible for FPBP to assure that patients receive quality care at a cost they can afford. Grant funds are utilized as a last resort of payment.

MHHC offers family planning services at ALL MHHC sites:

All family planning services are offered Monday through Friday and on weekends during regular clinic hours (varies by site). All sites are ADA compliant and easily accessible via public transportation.
