Building Health Equity, One Program at a Time

The Bronx and Brooklyn are among the unhealthiest counties in New York State — ranked #62 and #61— due to persistent challenges like food insecurity, chronic illness, and housing instability.

MHHC’s programs directly confront these disparities, helping families not just survive, but thrive.

Our Core Services:

  • Primary & Specialty Care: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and behavioral health services for all ages.
  • School-Based Health Centers: Delivering accessible care to students where they learn.
  • Behavioral Health: Providing culturally informed counseling, therapy, and support.

Our Signature Programs:

  • EatWell: Biweekly food pantries and the Morris Heights Farmers Market (in partnership with GrowNYC) to combat food insecurity and promote nutrition education.
  • AgeWell: Enriching the lives of older adults through preventive care, mobility support, and wellness activities.
  • Maternal Health & Hope Coalition: Supporting mothers through every stage — prenatal to postpartum — with community baby showers, breastfeeding workshops, and wellness education for Black and Hispanic women, who continue to face the highest maternal mortality rates.
  • Healthy Families Program & WIC: Strengthening early childhood development, nutrition, and family stability.

Each program reflects our enduring promise: To care for the whole person — body, mind, and community.
