Message from our President & CEO

MHHC is known as the caring place, where every patient is valued and respected, and where more than 600 committed staff members work together each day to further our mission of being the “vanguard for quality, affordable and accessible health care for all.”

We have been that caring place for over 40 years. We are enormously proud of that legacy, and it continues to guide our growth. Among the largest community-based health networks in the New York City, we serve more than 57,000 patients across nine diagnostic and treatment centers, two counseling centers, and 20 school-based health centers. As well, we have two sites which provide and facilitate insurance enrollment.

MHHC has grown from one storefront clinic in 1981 to a health network that stretches across the Bronx, and now Brooklyn because of our steadfast commitment to serve our community. We remain as committed and passionate about the difference we can make in the lives of the community we serve as we did on that wintry March day in 1981 when we opened our doors for the first time.

We have never forgotten what it means to care—for our patients, for our community, for those in need, and for each other. We are truly invested in the communities we serve, every day, because we know when we work together, we're healthier, better and stronger. Indeed, we start each day with a single-minded goal of making our patients and communities stronger, better than they were the day before.

We have done just that for four decades.

And rest assured that we will continue to ensure that every single patient who comes through our doors, across all of our clinical sites, is provided the care and services to support them on their journey to wellness with dignity, respect and compassion.
