Fifteen Emerging Leaders Selected Through Rigorous Process to Shape the Future of Community Healthcare
BRONX, NY — January 19, 2026 — MHHC is proud to announce the selection of 15 exceptional candidates for the inaugural cohort of the Morris Heights Leadership Academy. This elite group of professionals will begin a transformative nine-month journey on January 29, designed to cultivate the next generation of executive and clinical leadership within the organization.
The Morris Heights Leadership Academy was established to ensure that MHHC remains at the forefront of community healthcare by investing in its most valuable asset: its people. Over the next nine months, these candidates will undergo intensive training in strategic management, healthcare operations, community advocacy, and organizational ethics.
The selection process for this cohort was notably stringent. Out of a vast pool of internal applicants, these 15 individuals were chosen based on their proven dedication to patient care, their innovative problem-solving skills, and their alignment with MHHC’s mission to provide quality healthcare to all. The rigorous evaluation included multi-stage interviews, peer reviews, and leadership assessments designed to identify those with the resilience and vision required to lead in an evolving healthcare landscape.
"We are incredibly proud to introduce these fifteen trailblazers," said Dr. Sylvester Foote, Chief Nursing Officer and one of the Facilitators of the Leadership Academy at MHHC. "The Leadership Academy is more than just a training program; it is a commitment to the long-term health of our community. By empowering these individuals today, we are securing a legacy of excellence for MHHC for decades to come."
The program will culminate in October 2026, at which point the graduates will be prepared to step into pivotal roles, driving innovation and equity across MHHC’s various departments and clinics.
Congratulations to the 15 selected candidates—Poojitha Arukonda, Erline Ramirez, Marisol Torres, Norbely Cruz, Luciany Campusano, Jacqueline Hernandez, Pallavi Khade, Sydnee Tyree, Tiffany Hinds, Jasmin Nunez, Christopher Morales, Anthony Gregory, Kimani Madhoo, Veronica Guerrero, and Monique Young, whose selection is a testament to their hard work, talent, and potential to make a lasting impact on the lives of the communities we serve.
