Events to Highlight 60 Years of Progress in Community-Centered Care with Free Screenings, Back-to-School Giveaways, and More
Bronx, NY – (August 5, 2025) – In celebration of National Health Center Week (NHCW) 2025, MHHC is proud to host two community-wide Patient Appreciation Day events in the Bronx and Brooklyn. These vibrant, family-friendly events will take place on Wednesday, August 6 at 85 W. Burnside Avenue and Friday, August 8 at 1095 Flatbush Avenue, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
This year’s NHCW marks a national milestone—60 years of community-centered care. Sponsored by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), the week is dedicated to honoring the work of Community Health Centers nationwide and their mission to provide equitable, affordable care to underserved communities.
“For over 40 years, MHHC has been a pillar of care and support in the Bronx, and more recently in Central Brooklyn,” said Mari G. Millet, President & CEO, MHHC. “These events are our way of saying thank you to our patients and neighbors by offering meaningful resources, health screenings, and a fun, safe space to celebrate community health.”
The 2025 NHCW theme, “America’s Health Centers Celebrating 60 Years of Improving Our Nation’s Health,” reflects the journey of health centers across the country and their commitment to improving health outcomes through lasting partnerships. MHHC’s events will bring that theme to life with:
- Free Health Screenings
- Back-to-School Backpack & Supply Giveaways
- Social Services & Community Resource Tables
- Live Entertainment, DJ, Raffles, and Family Fun
The events are open to the public and will welcome over 200 attendees, including patients, families, community leaders, and partner organizations.
