MHHC Spreads Holiday Magic with Festive Celebrations and Toy Giveaways
In the spirit of giving, MHHC (Morris Heights Health Center) held a series of heartwarming events that brought joy and holiday cheer to the Bronx and Brooklyn MHHC communities. From December 13th to the 22nd, MHHC hosted seven incredible Toy Giveaways and its Annual Community Tree Lighting, making this season extra special for so many families.

Holiday Toy Giveaway Extravaganza: A Recap of the Festivities
MHHC's Holiday Toy Giveaway took place at various MHHC sites throughout the Bronx and Brooklyn. Families were invited to join in the festive celebration, where the air was filled with laughter and excitement. The events, which ran from December 13th to 22nd, provided an opportunity for children to receive toys and enjoy the enchantment of the holiday season with a visit from Santa Claus, delicious cookies, and joyous holiday music. The community came together to spread the magic of the season, making each event a resounding success. Families, volunteers, and MHHC staff collaborated to create a festive atmosphere, truly embodying the spirit of giving. MHHC is so thankful to the organization that makes it possible to bring joy and happiness to all the children of the community every year. While this organization prefers to remain anonymous, their noble efforts will never go unnoticed by MHHC and similar organizations that focus on giving.

Second Annual Tree Lighting: Lighting Up the Holidays
MHHC highlighted the holiday festivities during the Second Annual Tree Lighting, a community tradition in the making. On December 15th, Captain Roscoe Brown Plaza transformed into a winter wonderland as families gathered to experience the joy of the season. From 3pm to 6pm, the park across from Bronx Community College was alive with the sound of festive Christmas caroling, the warmth of a clothing and coat giveaway, a fresh produce giveaway, a toy giveaway, cookie decorating, the sweet aromas of hot cider and hot chocolate drinks, and so much more! Santa Claus and Mrs. Clause made a special appearance, delighting children and spreading holiday cheer. A festive life-sized robot equipped with lights fascinated the children as they played with their new toys, looked through new books, and enjoyed holiday treats. There were heartwarming words proclaimed by MHHC’s Chief Business Officer, followed by inspirational talks of unity and love for the community given by supporters Councilmember Pierina Sanchez, and Assemblymember Yudelka Tapia. Along with our loyal elected officials, MHHC sends a warm thank you to our supporters, the NYC Parks Department, Affinity by Molina Healthcare, NYPD, Intec Academy, Aetna, Hunts Point Produce Market, Fidelis Care, Bronx Bound Books, Davidson Community Center, Community Board 5, Highbridge Voices, and Metro Plus.

Caring for the Community: MHHC's Commitment to the Bronx and Brooklyn
MHHC reaffirmed its dedication to the Bronx, through special holiday celebrations for the entire community. The love and holiday cheer extended to MHHC’s Brooklyn location in East Flatbush. Recognizing the challenges faced by many families, MHHC took the initiative to provide not only toys but also essential resources such as warm clothing and books, creating a memorable and heartwarming experience for all. As a result of the support from loyal partners
and MHHC's commitment to its community, over 1,500 children of the Bronx and Brooklyn received toys. The success of the Holiday Toy Giveaways and the Community Tree Lighting event underscore the importance of unity and compassion, especially during the festive season. MHHC expresses gratitude to everyone who participated, volunteered, and contributed to making these events a tremendous success. Together, the entire MHHC community lit up the holidays, creating lasting memories for the children and families of the Bronx.
