What we are doing within the School-Based Clinics to keep everyone safe



We want to assure you we have reviewed and strengthen our existing high-quality
care delivery standards and practices to ensure the most rigorous COVID-Safe
Care protocols are in place and available across our entire school- based
clinic network. Safety is a priority. Our focus is the provision of safe
care and to protect the health of all our students/patients. To ensure
we are current ad compliant with all regulatory health practices, guidelines
and standards. We have implemented:
1. Rigorous Cleaning Measures We have further strengthened the existing
rigorous cleaning measures. Rooms and equipment are going to be cleaned
according to standard precautions including frequently touched areas.
2. Masks and Sanitization Dispensers All students, staff, school’s
personnel; parents/guardians, visitors to the SB Clinics are required
to wear masks and/or face coverings distinctively covering the nose and
mouth prior to entry. Individuals who don’t have their own will
be provided one. Hand sanitizing dispensers are available upon entry and
throughout the SB Clinics ensuring good hand hygiene requirements are
easily adhered.
3. Social Distancing and Wellness Barriers All students, staff, school’s
personnel; parents/guardians, visitors to the SB Clinics are asked to
maintain a distance of at least six feet from one another, unless giving
or receiving direct patient care. We have also adjusted seating layouts
in the clinic wait area to limit capacity. We have also added floor spacing
signs to support education and messaging. Wellness protective barriers
have also been installed in the SB Clinics.
4. Universal Screenings SB Staff: ALL SB Clinic staff members conduct and
log daily temperature checks upon arrival at work in keeping with current
MHHC operational standard practices and health guidelines. This also extends
to all NYCDOE requirements. Students: Utilizing the Screening Survey tool,
ALL students/patients entering the SB Clinic for care will be screened
for other symptoms and possible COVID-19 exposure.
5. Designated Isolation Room For everyone’s safety, each clinic within
the school-based network has a designated treatment area to manage the
care of COVID-19 presenting students.
6. TELEHEALTH MEDICAL SERVICES are now part of our SB Clinics standard
care delivery model.
