MHHC provides a full spectrum of women’s health and education services at its dedicated Women’s Health & Birthing Pavilion (WHBP). A unique multi-care facility addressing health care needs for women extending from prenatal care, labor and delivery to the needs of the maturing woman. Opened since 1988, initially the Child Bearing Center, the WH&BP has been committed to providing the finest health care for women, mothers and their babies. MHHC is the first community health center in the country to provide out-of-hospital, midwifery-run childbearing center in a low income community serving women of many culture and race. It has paved the way for many other institutions of its kind to be established nationwide and beyond.
WHBP is accredited by the National Association of Childbearing Centers and the Joint Commission and is affiliated with area hospitals.
