Community Liaison

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & External Affairs, the Community Liaison will provide support to the MHHC Marketing Department’s goals and responsibilities. This role is responsible for developing and administering public awareness and education surrounding all MHHC programs and services. This position will require working with stakeholders such as program managers/directors, partners and members of the public.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the MHHC marketing program to promote the Center’s business to the public at large with the major objectives of attracting & retaining patients, garnering community support, promoting a solid public image, establishing and maintaining goodwill while heightening public awareness of the organization’s business.
  • With the direction of the Director of Marketing & Patient Resources, develop and execute outreach strategies to support growth and patient retention.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community entities, and identify venues to conduct events.
  • Identify and coordinate participation in community events; this includes liaising with MHHC’s departments to ensure participation and visibility.
  • Provide community/referral sources with information relative to services and programs offered at Morris Heights Health Center.
  • Research new marketing opportunities.
  • Attend community board meetings, advisory councils and health committees.
  • Oversee the Patient Advisory Group and ensure our patients are informed of changes in the organization, upcoming events and resources available.
  • Serve as a member of the Marketing Outreach Team (MOT) Steering Committee.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
  1. Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelors Degree in related field preferred.

  2. Experience: This position requires a minimum of High School Diploma and experience or training in communications, public administration, or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experiences.

  3. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work in teams and collaborate across departments to complete assigned projects effectively and efficiently.

  4. Reasoning Ability: Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage time, maintain accurate and organized records, adhere to a schedule, and manage multiple projects simultaneously and autonomously.

  5. Language Skills: English, Spanish (Bilingual) preferred. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

  6. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, including use of a keyboard and mouse.

  7. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

  8. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, and smell. The employee required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  9. Certifications/Licenses: No special certification is required for this position, although completion of a course in medical coding, medical terminology or medical billing is highly desired.

HIRING RATE

$20.06 per hour
