Commencement Ceremony at BCC

  • Date Posted: Jun 13, 2016

Friday, June 3rd, members of MHHC attended the commencement ceremony for Bronx Community College’s graduating class of 2016. Showing their support for not only a pioneer of excellence in the Bronx community, but also a long-standing community partner, MHHC team members watched on as legislators and students alike addressed the crowd of soon-to-be graduates and their families. Each speaker gave a powerful and pointed message to the class of 2016, inspiring them to reach higher, go farther, and dream bigger.

Speakers included: Bronx Borough President, Ruben Diaz, Jr.; NYS Senator, Charles Schumer; City University of New York Board of Trustees member, Wellington Chen; Executive Vice Chancellor and University Provost, Vita Rabinowitz; and, Class Valedictorian, Yardley Martinez.

In addition, Dr. Thomas A. Isekenegbe was given his ceremonial investiture as BCC’s new President. He also gave his inaugural address to the first graduating class under his tenure. Over 2,000 students marched across the stage to receive their diplomas, a powerful, uplifting image for the community. We congratulate all of this year’s graduates and we encourage and challenge more students to cross the stage in the coming years!
