Columbia University’s Summer Public Health Scholars Program

  • Date Posted: Jun 24, 2016

Today, some of our Executive Leadership committee as well as members of the Planning, Development & External Affairs department hosted 21 young adults who are participating in Columbia University’s Summer Public Health Scholars Program (SPHSP). The program is designed for undergraduates going into their junior or senior year and also recent baccalaureate degree students who are undecided about their career goals. Our purpose was to inform them on the importance of Federally Qualified Health Centers in underserved communities as well as answer all questions that they may have about our line of work. The two hours that we spent with them was really refreshing and rewarding, not only for them as potential public health leaders but also for us. We know the future of public health is in great hands with young people such as them.
