Our Services

Family Planning

MHHC has provided federal Title X-funded family planning services for over 30 years. Family planning services are fully integrated into MHHC’s medical model of care. This means that when you visit your provider at MHHC they will ask you about your need for reproductive health services and support.

The Family Planning Program offers a full scope of preconception health services including:

  • Focused reproductive health planning and treatment and sexual health assessment,
  • Discussions on pregnancy, pregnancy spacing and contraception options,
  • STI history assessment, and
  • Screening for intimate partner violence, drug and alcohol use, tobacco usage, immunizations, depression, and chronic illnesses (diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, etc.)

Preventive health services include:

  • Cervical Cancer screening,
  • Clinical breast examinations,
  • Mammography, and
  • Genital examinations.

All patients of the family planning program are provided with services regardless of their ability to pay for services. The Family Planning Benefit Program (FPBP) is offered to all eligible family planning patients. The FPP also utilizes the sliding fee scale for those patients that are not eligible for FPBP to assure that patients receive quality care at a cost they can afford. Grant funds are utilized as a last resort of payment.

MHHC offers family planning services at the following MHHC sites:

  • Women’s Health Pavilion (70 W. Burnside Avenue)
  • Burnside Avenue Main Site (85 W Burnside Avenue)
  • Walton Avenue (25 East 183rd Street)
  • MHHC at St. Ann’s Avenue (625 East 137th Street)

All family planning services are offered Monday through Friday and on weekends during regular clinic hours (varies by site). All sites are ADA compliant and easily accessible via public transportation.
